About the Beechcraft King Air

Coordination and observation aircraft

It carries the observers and radios that organize the air operation. It locates and assesses the fire, identifies safe drop runs, separates aircraft in the incident airspace, and guides tankers; it normally carries no water or retardant.

What this type can do

The King Air 90 is a compact twin-turboprop observation platform. It can remain above an incident with an air-attack supervisor and radio equipment, build the shared picture, and sequence suppression aircraft.

This describes the type’s usual firefighting capability; it does not prove what this aircraft is carrying or doing now.

Beechcraft King Air

The Beechcraft King Air is a line of American utility aircraft produced by Beechcraft. The King Air line comprises a number of twin-turboprop models that have been divided into two families. The Model 90 and 100 series developed in the 1960s are known as King Airs, while the later T-tail Model 200 and 300 series were originally marketed as Super King Airs, with the name "Super" being dropped by Beechcraft in 1996.
