About the Embraer C-390 Millennium

Land-based air tanker

It loads water or retardant on the ground and attacks from a runway base. It can knock down flames with water or lay a retardant line ahead of the fire to slow its spread and support crews on the ground.

What this type can do

With the removable MAFFS II system installed, the twin-jet KC-390 can discharge about 12,000 litres of water or retardant in roughly seven seconds. It reloads on the ground and combines a large drop with high transit speed for distant, large-scale fires.
