About the Tecnam P2006T
Coordination and observation aircraft
It carries the observers and radios that organize the air operation. It locates and assesses the fire, identifies safe drop runs, separates aircraft in the incident airspace, and guides tankers; it normally carries no water or retardant.
What this type can do
The P2006T's high wing, low-speed efficiency and twin-engine redundancy support observation and aerial coordination. It can carry sensors, map the fire edge and relay a continuous tactical picture to suppression crews.
This describes the type’s usual firefighting capability; it does not prove what this aircraft is carrying or doing now.
The Tecnam P2006T is an Italian shoulder-winged twin-engined all-metal light aircraft, built by Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam based in Capua, Italy, near Naples. The P2006T received airworthiness certification in the European Union by EASA under CS23 in 2003, type certification in 2009, and Federal Aviation Administration FAR Part 23 certification in 2010.
