Fire Maps brings satellite detections, weather, spread scenarios, exposure and the live and historical trajectories of firefighting aircraft into one operational map.
I built Fire Maps because no public map brought together the different clocks that describe a wildfire. FIRMS and EFFIS report hot pixels, Meteosat observes often but coarsely, Sentinel-2 measures precisely but later, and flight trackers isolate transponders from the rest of the event.
Each service answers only part of the question. Weather maps model wind without showing the response in progress; frequently refreshed satellite pages may still display observations acquired hours earlier; fine imagery arrives after the fact.

One workspace. Four reference points that remain distinct.

Every layer keeps its own acquisition, publication and display time visible. A freshly refreshed screen never disguises an older observation.

Thermal detections, imagery, weather, wind, bounded spread scenarios and exposure share one frame without being presented as equivalent facts.

Follow the tracked aerial response
Live and historical aircraft paths, plus clearly identified mission events deduced from them, show where tracked aerial resources are operating and where coverage breaks.

State what each trace proves
Measured, modeled and deduced information stay explicitly labeled, with their source, useful scale and known limitations.
This combined reading supports analysis. It never replaces an instruction from an official alert, an authority, the fire service or an emergency operator.
Fire Maps cannot make satellites faster. It clearly shows when each observation was acquired, brings detections, weather and forecasts together on one map, then adds live and historical flight paths of firefighting aircraft. You can see what sensors observed, what models predict and where tracked aerial resources are operating.

Mission events and probable fire zones are inferred from full-resolution trajectories. They carry confidence and remain deductions, not official reports.

Official instructions always come first
Fire Maps helps you read the situation; it never issues evacuation or protection instructions. Follow the official alerts and the emergency services where you are. In an emergency, call 112 — the European emergency number, valid across the European Union and the EEA, and answered in Ireland alongside 999.
A map may refresh every minute while still displaying an observation acquired hours earlier. This directory separates acquisition time, publication cadence and actual spatial precision. The final column states what Fire Maps adds without claiming to replace the source or its official role. Every entry opens the map or the service’s official page.
